Civ v not updating

After updating manjaro to the October stable update, I found that Civilization V will no longer launch.

Since the latest Manjaro update (07-11-'16) I’m also having difficulties launching other games in Steam, like Tomb Raider.

Hey everyone, status update on the Summer 2017 Patch for Mac/Linux: It is with huge regret and sad faces that we, again, have to delay the release of cross-platform multiplayer.

This also resulted in the steam controller not working with it.

No other programs have been affected so far as I can tell.

A single game typically runs me 20 hours and that's without having to wait for anybody else to take their turn.

Is multiplayer faster somehow or do people really sit there without sleep for days on end to play?

This problem does not happen when I try to run the game from a fresh install of manjaro from the 16.08 disk image without updating.

Steam and other games (Tomb Raider, Rocket League) still run fine, so far as I can tell, only Civ was affected by this update. Okay, this stuff is really starting go on my nerves.

Either external porting companies like Aspyr and Feral need to get it together when it comes to multiplayer or the companies hiring them must integrate them better.

We’ve consistently stood behind a quality bar for our products, and it’s a standard that our partners and players have also come to expect.
